Pick a size and see it hung on a wall to scale, next to a sofa and a person of average height.
Which size to choose
Small
A5 (15×21cm) · A4 (21×30cm)
For a shelf, a desk or a framed gift. They are seen up close, at arm’s length.
Medium
30×40cm · 11×17″ · A3 (30×42cm) · 12×18″ · 40×50cm
For the wall above a desk, dresser or nightstand, a hallway or a narrow stretch of wall. They look great in pairs or in a gallery wall.
Large
A2 (42×59cm) · 18×24″ · 50×70cm · A1 (59×84cm) · 24×36″
The centerpiece of the wall: above a sofa, a bed or on an empty living-room wall. They read from across the room.
Three rules of thumb
- Above furniture, aim for about two-thirds of its width. Too small gets lost; too big overwhelms.
- Hang the center at eye level, 57–60 in (145–150 cm) from the floor. Above a sofa, leave 8–10 in (20–25 cm) over the backrest.
- Torn between two sizes? Go bigger: a poster almost always looks smaller on the wall than it does in your hands.

Printing it yourself?
